Solving America’s retirement savings crisis

It’s pretty well known that most American’s simply don’t save enough during their working years to fund a comfortable retirement.  Social Security was never intended to provide more than 40% of a retired persons income, so the rest must come from somewhere, usually whatever nest egg a person has been able to accumulate while they’re working.  Unfortunately, little has been done to address the tendency of Americans to not save at all, or to save far too little to sustain them financially when they stop working.  One solution, according to this MarketWatch article by Michael Krucker, is for employers to automatically enroll employees in a sponsored 401(k) type plan, and also to offer free financial advise.  Click here to read more.
