Taking Early Benefits

Although the number of people deciding to follow the advice of waiting to file for retirement is rising, the majority of recent retirees have taken early benefits. Many of those that take early benefits have outside factors weighing on that choice over the other making it much more necessary. These are people in poorer health, lower life expectancies, and in harder financial straits. Just because the option exists to wait longer to collect benefits does not mean that collecting early is always the wrong choice. All factors should be taken in to consideration when making the decision of when to file for Social Security benefits.
