The costs of working in retirement might outweigh the benefits

Today retirees have lots of opportunities to make extra money by taking on part-time jobs, starting a business or joining the gig economy. However, working may not always be your best bet since many retiree jobs sound better than they really are. For example, according to calculations by the MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, the typical Uber diver makes a median profit of $8.55 to $10 per hour.
