A fairly large percentage of older Americans fear that they will outlive their retirement nest egg, which would make for a pretty uncomfortable – if not dire – situation in later years. Those fears may be pretty well founded, unless you take steps early enough to make sure it doesn’t happen. For example, familiarizing yourself with all of your Social Security options before you claim benefits, realistically estimating what your post-career living expenses will be, and being aggressive with your retirement savings are steps which will provide the best insurance for a comfortable retirement for as long as you live.
