Your “My Social Security” Online Account
Social Security’s online services include a “My Social Security” account, which is your personal portal into your Social Security entitlements. But this online account isn’t just for those already collecting Social Security, it’s also very beneficial to everyone who will someday become eligible for benefits. Even younger folks who work and contribute to Social Security should have an online account, if for no other reason than monitoring their earnings record to make sure it’s accurate. After all, that future SS benefit will be based on your lifetime earnings record as recorded by Social Security. In this Patch.com article, contributor Kentia Torres discusses Social Security’s online “My Social Security” account and all the services available to you after you create yours.
