84 Million Healthcare Accounts Hacked

The beginning of 2015 saw a shift in hacker targets from the retail sector to the healthcare sector. Lax security in the healthcare industry has allowed 34 percent of all accounts to be breached, overtaking government at 31.4 percent. The biggest contribution to the overall total was the February hack of the Anthem (Blue Cross and Blue Shield) accounts, amounting to 78.8 million on its own.
