Final Days for Old Strategies

We are c0ming up on the final months of being able to use a few common Social Security filing strategies. These strategies, the “claim now and claim more later” and “file and suspend,” are slated to be unavailable on May 1 this year. Even then, they are only available to those that meet certain criteria or those that have already filed using these strategies. These strategies were closed down in a recent budget bill in order to save money on extraneous pay outs as these were seen as loop holes that were being exploited for extra benefits.
