Taking Early Benefits

Most of the advice out there concerning Social Security benefits say to wait as long as possible to let your payments grow as much as possible before you start receiving them. That advice is not applicable to many people, however, for a multitude of reasons. Everyone’s situation is different, what would be the right decision for one person may not be the right decision for you. When to collect benefits is dependent on you current situation and predicted future. One of the biggest things to take in to consideration is your health. Based on your current health and medical history in your family, it may make sense to start collecting benefits early. Other reasons boil down to financial need, some people simply can’t afford retirement without the help that Social Security can offer them.
