Upcoming Hearing on Social Security and Equal Treatment

The House Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee will meet on March 22 in order to discuss changes to the Social Security system that would ensure equal treatment to public servants. They will discuss proposals to the system that would lead to the fair treatment of those in professions such as firefighters, police officers, and teachers. According to the chairman of this subcommittee, Sam Johnson, these demographics are currently being treated unfairly within the system because they receive government pensions in retirement.
