For some folks, automatically applying for Social Security as soon as they’re eligible seems to be the right choice at the time. Others may start Social Security benefits a little later, but after collecting a while and their circumstances change, they wish they hadn’t started their benefits. Well, you do have options, from withdrawing your application within a year of applying, or by simply suspending your benefits until a later time and building some delayed retirement credits while your payments are suspended.
