Women face unique issues in retirement planning
In this article by Andrew Menachem appearing in The Miami Herald, the author describes the very unique issues facing women in retirement, not the least of which is the fact that, on average, women live longer than men and will be retired for more years. As a result, their planning needs to focus on the additional savings they’ll need, which can be tricky considering that the so-called gender pay gap and the “glass ceiling” is still very real for most women. But complemented by the assistance of a qualified financial advisor and some common sense actions which can be taken earlier in their career, women can position themselves to enjoy their “golden years” in relative comfort.
