More on “Gen Xers” and their Retirement Savings Track Record
Forbes contributor Megan Gorman, in a post on forbes.com, takes a look at the less-than-rosy retirement savings patterns emerging withing the Generation X population cohort. This segment of the population–those born in the early-to-mid 1960s to the early 1980s–often carry the unfortunate label of “slacker generation” because of their often self-admitted lack of savings for retirement life and, as Ms. Gorman notes, it might be an appropriate label: “The average Gen Xer didn’t start saving for retirement until age 30 and saves less for retirement today versus Boomers and Millennials.” Read her analysis of the situation here…
