Get Your $500 if on Social Security & You Didn’t Receive It
Zack Friedman of Forbes notes that many seniors with dependent children did not receive a $500 dependent payment under the CARES Act (stimulus bill) passed in March. A senior with a dependent child age 16 and younger had to visit the IRS website and use the Non-Filer tool to receive a dependent payment and do so prior to April 22 to get the dependent payment included in your first stimulus check. If you didn’t do this, you likely did not receive a $500 stimulus payment for each dependent child. But the IRS is giving a second chance. These are the three additional criteria one must meet if a payment was not received for each dependent: 1.) You receive Social Security retirement benefits, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), disability (SSDI), survivor benefits, Railroad Retirement benefits or Veterans Affairs Compensation and Pension; 2.) You did not file a 2018 or 2019 federal income tax return; 3.) You have at least one dependent who is age 16 or younger. Read full article to learn how to get the $500 per child payment here.
