2024 Social Security Trustees Report–Accentuating the Positives

While the most recent Social Security Trustees Report to Congress reflects an additional year before the point of insolvency is reached, the fact remains that insolvency remains in the relatively near future for the program. This is the bad, and of course not unexpected, news, but ThinkAdvsor’s John Manganaro finds that there are some positives that should be noted in the details accompanying the report. For example, job growth in an economy still rebounding from the pandemic added more workers to the taxpayer roles, and the Disability Insurance reserves have steadied.

Presented in slideshow fashion, Manganaro takes a look at the positives found in the Trustees Report. Click here to access his article. Of course, his concluding slide brings us back to the seriousness of the solvency predicament, noting that changes need to be made sooner than later to reflect beneficiaries.
