If you delay taking your benefits from your full retirement age up to age 70, your benefit amount will increase. The majority of financial experts recommend that people wait until age 70 to maximize their Social Security benefits. However, how many individuals wait until age 70 to file for their Social Security benefits? A recent survey found that only eight percent of eligible individuals wait until 70 to file.
