What do you fear more – Dying or running out of money in retirement? - USA Today
According to a recent survey of retired seniors, most of us fear running out of money during retirement much more than we fear death! A somewhat stunning 67% of seniors worry more about their financial security than any other issue they may face in their golden years. This isn’t, however, new news because most of us have feared death less than running out of money in at least the last five years surveyed, but the percentage is higher this year than in the past. Of course, the reasons are mostly centered around the “perfect storm” which arises from steadily increasing life expectancy, higher inflation, fewer pensions, and increases in medical costs and long term care.
