In just the past few weeks, data breaches were reported at Facebook, Toyota, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Earls Enterprises, parent company of Planet Hollywood, with these security breaks representing a continuation of major unintended disclosures of sensitive personal data over the past few years. Should you be concerned? Of course, and you should also be even more diligent in you personal dealings regarding to whom you release your own data–most notably your Social Number.
