Baby Boomers and Millennials in Marketing

Baby Boomers have long set the standard on living, working, and shopping in America. Millennials are turning all of this on its head, however, and some companies are having a hard time adapting. For example, Millennials are much more likely to do their shopping online rather than in store, a statement backed up by the fact that many clothing retailers such as GAP and Macy’s experienced low sales this past spring while Amazon.com is on track to become the largest clothing retailer. This is causing companies to rethink their philosophy in order to survive as Millennials take over as the largest generation in America.
