“Hospital List Prices” draw attention at AEI

In an article titled “Making (some) sense of hospital list prices” posted on the American Enterprise Institute, Research Fellow in Economic Policy Studies Benedic Ippolito examines the area of “hospital list prices” – often called chargemaster prices – characterizing the subject as a “bewildering feature of U.S. health care.” His post takes a look at various aspects of hospital pricing, drawing the conclusion that price is become increasingly important in health care reform.
