Andrew Biggs, Forbes contributor and resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, provides an analysis of the manner in which the availability of deferred compensation plans like 401(k) plans play a key role retirement financing. Biggs’ article is in answer to an article published by Bloomberg personal finance writer Ben Steverman presenting a theory that 401(k) plans may be detrimental to indivudual savings initiatives.
