Is there a “Retirement Crisis?” Well, it probably depends on who you ask.

A recent survey published by Prudential Financial suggests that well over hLF–58%, to be exact–appear convinced that the U.S. is in the midst of a crisis of some sort. But, is that really the case, or is it just that awareness of some folks having financial difficulty in their retirement years creates the impression that the malady is widespread? Add to that the constant barrage of news accounts about Social Security’s projected cash shortfall, with the potential for substantial benefit cuts if nothing is done to correct the problem, and you may have the ingredients for the Prudential Financial survey results.
