Mixed Reactions on Payroll Tax Deferral

The CARES Act provision to allow companies to defer paying employer payroll taxes until as late as the end of 2022 without incurring interest charges is garnering little interest among small businesses, according to an article posted on inquirer.com by Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Gene Marks. Even though the provisions can be viewed as an interest-free loan from the federal government, it seems that many small businesses are not interested.
