Qualifying for Social Security as a Part-Timer

Maurie Backman notes most people have little trouble earning 40 work credits (10 years) to qualify for Social Security benefits in retirement. But the amount required to earn one credit rises from $1,730 to $1,810 next year. You can earn a maximum four credits per year.
