Social Security and Kids
Social Security is not just there to aid you in retirement, part of its role is to ensure the wellbeing of your children. 4.4 million children receive benefits each year because of disabled, retired, or deceased parents. This goes a long way in helping to offset financial troubles for families with children when income is suddenly reduced due to death or illness. Social Security also pays benefits to disabled children in the event of birth defects or developmental disabilities.
