A divorced spouse may be eligible for benefits from their ex, depending on whether certain conditions are met. The basic rule is that you must have been married for at least 10 years to be eligible for ex-spouse benefits, but their are other criteria as well, as explained in this article. For example, a divorced recipient cannot be currently married to collect ex-spouse benefit from a living ex, but remains eligible for a survivor benefit from their ex if the recipient remarries at age 60 or later.
