Social Security Recipients Losing Ground to Inflation

A recent survey conducted by The Senior Citizens League concluded that, since 2000, seniors have lost a substantial portion of the buying power afforded to them through cost of living (COLA) increases. Specifically, the survey reports that while COLA adjustments have increased benefits 43% since 2000, typical expenses have jumped 74% during this same period. With no COLA increase projected for 2016, the harmful effect on seniors is likely to worsen, the survey concludes. Read more about it here…
