Some serious consequences for being too dependent on Social Security benefits in retirement

According to a survey from the Insured Retirement Institute, only a quarter of baby boomers think they’re doing a good job of preparing for retirement and 42 percent of boomers don’t have anything saved for their retirement. And according to survey from American Advisors Group, 49 percent of baby boomers say they expect Social Security to be their main source of income during retirement. Although Social Security benefits are a great addition to your retirement income, they shouldn’t be your primary source of income.
