The state of retirement in America

Of the 77 percent of Americans having retirement plans, many people don’t have enough saved to fund their retirement at the same level as their working years. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported for Americans between ages 55 and 64 have a median retirement savings of just over $107,000 but they warn this “amount only translates into $310 monthly payment, and only if it was invested in an inflation-protected annuity.” In Jordan Rosenfeld’s article for Yahoo Finance, he writes about the state of retirement in America.
