The Most Recent Proposal for Social Security

Earlier this month Rep. Reid Ribble submitted his own take on insuring the future of Social Security. Ribble’s bill claims to shore up the solvency of Social Security for the next 75 years, adding about 60 years to the administration’s current life expectancy. In order to achieve this, he proposes raising the retirement age from 67 to 69, however the early retirement age would remain at 62. One of the bigger changes comes in how COLA would be calculated.
