“Just hang up” on Medicare card scammers
Here we go again. It seems like scammers and cyber-criminals will exploit every possible opportunity to get your personal information to use for their nefarious purposes. The latest con is perpetrated via a telephone call from someone pretending to be from Medicare calling about your new Medicare card and wanting you to verify your personal information in order for you to receive it. The best advice comes from a NY-based Alliance Against Insurance Fraud: “Just hang up!” on any cold-call you get about your new Medicare card, because it’s from a con-artist who will try to bilk you out of your money.
