As the boomers fade, so will our economy

The economists cited in the recent front-page coverage pondering the lack of economic recovery and dismal salaries of local workers seemed to miss two very important points. The first is the demise of labor unions and the second is the fact that there is a diminishing market resulting from low pay. Labor unions — love them or hate them — drove the incomes of the middle class for decades.
