Boomers Refuse to Down Size

One common thing to do in retirement used to be downsizing and living in a smaller home that came with lower expenses that fit well with a fixed income. Today’s retirees are marking a new path, though, and many are upsizing if not staying put. That’s not to say Boomers are actively looking to spend more money in retirement, many of this bigger homes are located in places that have a lower cost of living including lower property taxes. Many retirees today also go back to work and can afford to live it up a little more in retirement than past generations.
