Justice Department Files Civil Action to Stop “Robo-calls”
Americans are plagued daily by the seemingly endless stream of “robo-calls” which are not only exceedingly annoying but also an attempt to scam the unsuspecting into revealing personal information which can be used to bilk them out of money. And sadly, these calls have actually been facilitated by a number of telecommunications companies who allowed these calls and even made them easier for the perpetrators. Finally, the U.S. Department of Justice has stepped in and filed civil actions requesting restraining orders against 5 companies and 3 individuals to stem this scourge which has cost massive financial losses for American consumers.
