Lifetime of Social Security

As of August 1st the Social Security Disability Insurance Program has been active for 60 years. This program has been a staple of the system as a whole for the entire time. The disability insurance program helps all those eligible that cannot work due to many different ailments. The disability program was proposed as early as 1935 but put off due to concerns over funding as well as determining eligibility to beneficiaries.
