No Expiration on Survivors Benefits

As long as you qualify for Survivors Benefits there is no deadline on when you must claim it. Although, there are reasons why you should claim it or when to claim it just the same as your own Social Security. Normally you cannot claim Survivors benefits before age 60, exceptions apply should you be disabled or the deceased was caring for a child. The same rules apply to how much you would receive from these benefits, they are reduced depending on how early you take them and they grow each year depending on inflation and COLA calculations.
