Millions of Americans can’t afford to retire - AMAC & The Guardian

Michael Sainato of The Guardian writes a sobering piece here about the state of retirement in America. He notes the number of US workers aged 75 and up is expected to increase over 96% in next decade, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. With some saying ‘we must work until we die,’ Sainato paints a grim reality of millions of Americans working into their senior years because they can’t afford not to have a job. He provides statistics, examples, and some personal accounts and notes next year’s Social Security cost of living adjustment of 5.9% in a time of economy wide inflation is just not cutting it.
