Slight decline in SSDI applictions reported

Continuing what the Social Security Administration suggests is a trend, the number of new Social Security Disability Insurance applications during the January-July, 2016 period dropped about one and a half percent over the same period last year. “This trend is due in part to the aging U.S. workforce, in particular as more baby boomers reach retirement age and are no longer eligible for SSDI,” explained Mike Stein, Allsup assistant vice president of Claims noted in an article posted on PRNewswire.
