The lack of knowledge about Social Security - 401K Specialist

Social Security is a cornerstone of retirement. And for some, Social Security will be, or is, their primary source of income in retirement, according to the just-released 2021 US Retirement Survey. The study confirms that many Americans find Social Security too confusing, with seven in ten respondents wish they were more knowledgeable about it. However, 74 percent of non-retired respondents and 84 percent non-retired aged 60-67 understand that the longer they wait to take Social Security, the more they will receive; they decide to pass up the larger monthly payments.
