Rules Pertaining to Collecting Spousal Benefits
Many do not know the full rules regarding the collection of spousal benefits from Social Security, and as a result may be leaving a lot of money uncollected that they are entitled to. You are entitled to spousal benefits if you meet the following four requirements: married at least 10 years, have not remarried, both are 62 years or older, spouse’s benefit is higher than your own.
