Changes Needed For Social Security

Social Security does not protect everyone equally. Some professions are excluded from participation in the system and because of this these individuals receive severely reduced benefits in retirement. These excluded professions are state and government positions that offer pension plans to their employees. The problem arises when employees in these fields held jobs either before or after that were outside of these fields. They receive reduced benefits based on the jobs that they did contribute to Social Security, but also receive lesser pensions because they did not hold public service positions for their full career life.
