Social Security Working on Correcting it’s Records - SSA Press Release

Social Security is making progress on updating and correcting it’s database so it will contain accurate and complete records. The agency keeps a historical record of anyone who has ever applied for or received benefits. Over the years the many records of deceased persons have not been updated with a date of death, causing what looks like many, many payments to dead people. This is now being addressed.
